Significant changes are coming to Public Sector Accounting Standards for the 2023 fiscal year. The impact of these standards will vary by municipality – some will require significant preparation while others will have minimal impact.
This webinar will provide you with a brief overview of each new standard and an action plan for effective implementation. This course will outline:
Asset retirement obligations (PS3280)
- Review sample project roadmap
- Practical advice on how to complete your ARO project regardless of progress to date
- Review of key assets likely to have retirement obligations
- Discussion of required changes to accounting for AROs, including considerations for G/L structure
Financial instruments (PS3450), Financial statement presentation (PS1201), Foreign currency translation (PS2601)
- Understand the relationship between the three standards
- Identify changes from existing standards (where applicable)
- Review sample project roadmap
- Discuss key accounting concepts related to financial instruments and foreign currency translation
- Overview of changes to financial statement presentation
- Summarize disclosure requirements
This course is ideal for finance teams.
This course is eligible for 1.5 hours hour of CPA verifiable professional development and includes a brief quiz. Participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
