The workshop will aim to inform the newcomer and provide a refresh for those familiar with the key components of the grant cycle.
- Introduction – the purpose and types of grants
- Grant readiness – get prepared upfront and streamline the process to make it repeatable
- Finding grants – more than research, choose the most strategic matches
- Relationships with funders – to build and grow connections takes time and effort
- Understand the application process – the parts of an application and what’s their purpose
- Writing the proposal and best practices – learn clear compelling writing and how to avoid pitfalls
- Handling the wait, the wins and the misses – funding agreements, negotiations and learning
- Compliance and Reporting – implement the project and discuss reporting requirements
Who Should Attend:
Any municipal or government employees whose role includes
- applying for grants – from getting grant ready to pressing the “Send” button
- carrying out programs or projects if grants applications are successful
- participating in the financial management and reporting of grants won
- collaborating with non-profits in your community
