Registration for the 2026 GFOA Alberta Annual Conference is officially open, and it’s going to be better than ever!

GFOA Alberta’s Annual Conference 2026 promises to be a highlight of the year, featuring terrific Keynote Speakers, 21+ Breakout Sessions, Panels, Networking Events, Welcome Reception, Gala Dinner & Entertainment, our Annual Golf Tournament, loads of Exhibitors, aPre-Conference Workshop and more.
We’ll be bigger and better with more to learn, do and enjoy than ever, so make your plans, book your accommodations and register as soon as possible – the Conference has sold out completely for the last two years and space, as always is limited.

Can Non Alberta-Based GFOA Members or Non-Members Attend?
Absolutely!
GFOA members from other areas are welcome to come in at member rates, and non-members from surrounding areas are welcome at regular rates anytime. We’d be delighted to meet you and welcome you to the great GFOA Alberta community!
We’ll have more details when registration opens.
Can Non-Members Attend the GFOA Alberta Conference?
Definitely! Non-members must purchase a non-member ticket, but may attend all sessions, keynotes and workshops, as well as participate in any additional activities.
Remember, members of GFOA Alberta receive a discount on registration and add-ons, so if you’re considering joining GFOA Alberta in 2026, you’ll save on your registration to the Conference as well as sessions and additional events during the year!

Are Refunds Available if my Plans Change?
We understand that things come up and plans may have to change, so we are happy to make refunds available until March 15, 2026..
After that date you may request a transfer of your registration to another person in your municipality if you know someone who can attend in your place, but refunds will no longer be available for either the Conference or the Gala Dinner.
Can I Bring a Spouse or Partner to the Conference?
Please do! We’re delighted to invite you to bring along your spouse or partner to enjoy the festivities. ! If you’d like to attend the Gala Banquet together, please be sure to purchase the Add-On for the Gala for your Spouse or Partner. The Gala Banquet is already included in the member and Non-member Conference 2026 Pass.

Join municipal finance professionals from across Alberta and beyond for four days of learning, connection, and inspiration at the GFOA Alberta 2026 Annual Conference, taking place in the heart of downtown Calgary.
This year’s conference follows a Tuesday to Friday format, giving you a smoother travel experience and full learning days.
Tuesday, May 19

- Kick off the conference with our popular GFOA Alberta Golf Tournament at the beautiful Elbow Springs Golf Club. This is a relaxed and fun way to connect with peers and partners before the conference gets underway.
Pre-Conference Workshop (hosted by Deloitte, CPD eligible)
- Start your conference experience early with a CPD-eligible pre-conference workshop, delivered by Deloitte. This optional session offers focused learning before the main conference begins and provides an opportunity to earn additional professional development credits.
Wednesday–Friday (May 20–22)
- Main conference programming
- Trade show, keynote speakers, and breakout sessions
- Conference concludes at noon on Friday
With Monday being a statutory holiday, many attendees may choose to travel on Monday and settle in ahead of Tuesday’s events.
