GFOA Alberta Presents:
Rural Municipalities & Districts
During the GFOA Alberta 2024 annual conference, attendees had the opportunity to collaborate, discuss and engage in one of 3 discussion forums depending on the size or type of their municipality. The forums included Rural Municipalities, Municipalities over 10k population and Municipalities under 10k population. At each of the forums, most of the participants agreed that they would benefit from additional meetings if GFOA Alberta was able to facilitate this in a virtual setting.
As a result, GFOA Alberta will be hosting a 2-hour discussion forum for Rurals on Wednesday, October 30 at 2:00 PM.
Ask questions, share information, and gain valuable insights from your colleagues. Your participation is strongly encouraged!
This forum will be moderated by Josh Hunter, Director of Finance at County of Northern Lights and a GFOA Professional Development Task Force Member. Agenda topics will include an update from Municipal Affairs and other relevant topics, questions or concerns that have come forward to the moderator.
Please email suggested agenda topics to hunterj@countyofnorthernlights.com before October 18, 2024.
The frequency, length and structure of any future forums can also be determined based on what works best for the participants.
GFOA will be sending out a link to the complimentary registration prior to the forum date and a forum agenda will also be sent out once completed.
Have questions? Feel free to reach out to programs@gfoa.ab.ca anytime and we’ll be happy to help.
