What is Business Continuity Management?

Business Continuity Management is the process of putting a plan in place BEFORE a natural disaster event, helping to build organizational resilience and the capability for an effective response.

Especially now, as many Alberta communities have had to deal with natural disaster management on multiple fronts, the determination to create a plan for managing upcoming challenges to each community is essential. Deloitte and GFOA Alberta are proud to support our local communities by providing the opportunity to hear from and be advised by the Managing Director of the Alberta Emergency Management Agency.

The Webinar will cover:

  • What are baseline BCM and good practices for a community?
  • Disaster management with a focus on insurance programming for municipalities
  • How does continuity management translate to local authorities, with a  focus on latest disaster season, associated programs.
  • Learnings for efficient funding applications and designing programs.
