GFOA Alberta’s Annual Conference 2025 promises to be a highlight of the year, featuring Keynote Speakers, Breakout Sessions, Panels, Networking Events, Golf and more.
Last year’s Conference was a terrific event, breaking the record for our largest and most successful conference ever. We sold out more than a month before the opening, so you’ll want to register right away.

Where is the Conference Being Held This Year?
The Conference will be held at the Agri-Food Hub & Trade Center, located at 101 Exhibition Way S., Lethbridge, AB T1J 4R3
Can Non-Members Attend the GFOA Alberta Conference?
Definitely! Non-members must purchase a non-member ticket, but may attend all sessions, keynotes and workshops, as well as participate in any additional activities.
Remember, members of GFOA Alberta receive a discount on registration and add-ons, so if you’re considering joining GFOA Alberta in 2025, you’ll save on your registration to the Conference as well as sessions and additional events during the year!
Can I Bring a Spouse or Partner to the Conference?
Please do! We’re delighted to invite you to bring along your spouse or partner to enjoy the festivities, and all the fun of the Lethbridge and its unique environment too! If you’d like to attend the Gala Banquet together, please be sure to purchase the Add-On for the Gala for your Spouse or Partner. The Gala Banquet is already included in the member and Non-member Conference 2025 Pass.
Where Can I See the Conference Schedule?
The full Schedule will be available soon, and we’ll put a link to it on this page when its ready.
Are Refunds Available if my Plans Change?
We understand that things come up and plans may have to change, so we are happy to make refunds available until April 15, 2025.
After that date you may request a transfer of your registration to another person in your municipality if you know someone who can attend in your place, but refunds will no longer be available for either the Conference or the Gala Dinner.
Will There be a Golf Tournament this Year?
Indeed there will! We know that the GFOA AB Golf Tournament is a favorite among our members and non-members alike, so we’re delighted to announce that Sunday, June 1 will kick-off with the Golf Tournament. If you’d like to participate, be sure to include the Golf Tournament Add-On when you register for the Conference.
Remember, you can include one spouse or partner when you purchase your Gof Addd-on, and you must be attending the Conference to participate in the Golf Tournament. Spots for golf fill up very quickly and are limited, so be sure to include golf if you’re interested when you register.
Can Non Alberta-Based GFOA members or Non-Members Attend?
Absolutely!
GFOA members from other areas are welcome to come in at member rates, and non-members from surrounding areas are welcome at regular rates anytime. We’d be delighted to meet you and welcome you to the great GFOA Alberta community!
Non-members may register online, and if this is your first time attending a GFOA Alberta Conference, be sure to take advantage of the ‘First Timer’s Rate’!

Pamela Barnum
Non-Verbal Communications Expert
Meet Pamela Barnum
Pamela Barnum is a former undercover police officer in drug enforcement and a federal prosecuting attorney. While working in the justice system, she learned real-world techniques for building trust, negotiating with ease, and interpreting nonverbal cues (body language).
As part of her Master of Public Administration degree, Pamela studied corporate negotiations. Now, she teaches others how to implement these techniques so they can negotiate better deals, increase influence, and build more trusting relationships.
Pamela shares her experience, research, and expertise with humor, honesty, and energy, blending actionable strategies with memorable stories.
