    10. Financial Policy Development 101, October 16, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am MST

  • Review of best practices related to policy development,
  • Fundamentals of writing and concise policies,
  • Critical financial policies for municipalities,
  • The webinar will cover the requirements for 3 main policies : 1. Debt Management 2. Restricted Surplus/Reserves and 3. Year-End Surplus, and
  • Templates for policy writing will be provided

    In addition to the webinars listed above, a 3-part webinar series will be presented in the spring (dates to be confirmed) on 3-Year Operating Plan Forecasting – MGA Compliance Operational Tool ($350).

  • This will include a beginning to end educational experience that will provide a fundamental understudying of municipal operating budget forecasting
  • 1st webinar will be focused on operating budget forecasting process including a review of municipal price inflation, taxation forecasting, growth challenge estimations, staffing forecasting, and other key cost challenges,
  • The 2nd and 3rd webinar will provide hands-on education experience that will provide the student with the ability to develop a three-year forecasting/budget spreadsheet, and
  • Templates and a Bloom instruction guide will be provided
